I’ll be made after claiming Wilder’s belt — Joshua

I’ll be made after claiming Wilder’s belt — Joshua

Unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua says he will only feel he has “made it” in boxing if he captures Deontay Wilder’s WBC title.
The 29-year-old faces Andy Ruiz Jr on Saturday and told BBC Sport he does not feel “burnt out” as a fight week begins for the first time in a decade.
I’ve never been in a fight week where I have felt so energised,” he said.
Meanwhile Ruiz has revealed he got the New York fight by “bugging” Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn on Instagram.
Joshua, the WBA, IBF and WBO champion, cut a relaxed figure as he spoke on a New York rooftop, his hands sporting plasters and his cheeks showing small blemishes likely picked up in sparring at the Miami training base he has used to prepare for his US debut.
It’s been down to calculated steps. It’s been a good journey, a tough journey. On the sides of the journey there are billboards, then with time, two billboards but it’s all about winning in this sport.
“I haven’t put a foot wrong yet and I am not looking to put a foot wrong on Saturday either.”

Chelsea Flogs Arsenal to lift the Europa League Trophy

Chelsea beat Arsenal 4 goals to 1 to win their second Europa League trophy in five years.
The all English final came to an end with a 5 goals thriller, with Chelsea scoring four of the goals.
Oliver Giroud started the rout at the start of the second half after a barren draw in the first half, While Eden Hazard who however, played what seemed to be his last game with the blues ended the scoring.
Giroud scored the first goal of the match with a sublime header at the 49th minute. Pedro Rodriguez doubled the lead at the 56th minute with a tap in, Hazard scored a penalty to increase the lead with a 3 goals cushion.
Second half substitute, Alex Iwobi reduced the gunners deficit to 2 goals with a fine volley from a corner kick. Eden Hazard, however, restored the 3 goals margin after receiving a brilliant return pass from Giroud.
4-1 it ended in favour of the blues. All attention is shifted now to the Champions League final between yet again two English teams in Liverpool and Tottenham.

How to Start footwear business in Nigeria (make money)

How to Start footwear business in Nigeria (make money)

Starting Footwear business in Nigeriais a good idea if you know what it really entails.  So friends, Today i will be guiding you on HOW TO START A FOOTWEAR BUSINESS IN NIGERIA .
A lot of people make living with this footwear business in Nigeria and everywhere in the world.
Footwear business is of two ways
. Producing it your self
. Order from company producing it

Like i said earlier, footwear business is of two types. Either you produce it your self or you order it from company producing.
If you want to go for self production, you will to undergo apprentice process where by you go and learn it for some certain period till you become an expert.
Or rather if the capital is at your side, you can just recruit those that has the knowledge and start your own product.
Follow these steps to start a footwear business in Nigeria:
1. CHOOSE A NAME FOR YOUR FOOTWEAR BUSINESS
You will need to create a name for your footwear business which stands as an identity to your business or product. You can use your name e.g Femi Shoes or any other name of your choice.
So, when choosing a name try choosing the one that go along with your business
2. CARRY OUT MARKET RESEARCH
You will need to do some market research, this is so that you are able to identify your potential customers and target market. Also you need to note that your findings would also help you determine whether you want to have a shoe brand for only men, only women, and both, or children as well as other types of shoes. There are loads of books that can be found on this. One other way to get quickly informed about shoes is through the internet.
Write your business plan describing what types of shoes and handbags you will sell, your sales venue, how you will market your business, how you will fulfill orders and the legal form of your business, such as partnership, sole proprietorship or corporation. Include a list of costs of merchandise, projected revenues, marketing costs and operating costs. Take your business plan to banks and potential investors to gather enough funds to get your business started comfortably. You can also source for funds from family and friends.
Your brand has to stand for something that projects your vision and objectives as well as identifying with the customer’s as well. Your brand has to be consistent is communicating your own Unique Selling Point (USP).
Also, choose a competitive advantage. You can do this in three key areas, such as in quality, pricing and service. Ensure that in these three key areas, you have an edge over your competition. Another competitive strategy is to ensure that your cuxmvstomers stay excited by making every new feature or product you introduce innovative. This gives your customers something to talk about, whilst shutting out the competitors.
3. FIND A SHOE DESIGNER
If you can’t make shoes, this means that you may need to find a shoe designer and work with him or her at the factory or wherever, to design a line of shoes for your brand. Do bear in mind that the products you decide to churn out must have certain common features like; easy fit, trendy, and a high-fashion look, amongst others. These characteristics should become the standard operating features of your brand that will make it easily recognizable by buyers.
4. CREATE A LOGO
A logo identifies your footwear to your customers. You can easily design a logo using Canva or hire a graphics designer to create a logo for you.
5. MANUFACTURE YOUR FOOTWEAR
You can manufacture your footwear in small quantities and sell them. Then, repeat the cycle again.
6. CHOOSE YOUR PRICES
Choose prices that resonate with your brand. Do you want to sell budget friendly or expensive shoes? Factor in the cost of production and advertising.
7. CREATE SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Create a Facebook , Twitter and Instagram account where you can post photos of your footwear and sell to customers.
8. ADVERTISE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Simi asked if Happy About Naira Marley Arrest [She replied]

The Charlie Champagne girl, Simi has finally spoken about Naira Marley arrest.
Naira Marley’s road to detention can easily be traced to his beef with Simi a few weeks back after she condemned internet fraud and anyone supporting it.
Naira Marley rose in defense of ‘ Yahoo Yahoo ’ which ultimately led him to record the ‘Am I a Yahoo Boy’ song before he got arrested.
Last night, Simi gave her followers a chance to ask her some questions on Instagram and a particular user asked if she is happy with what Naira is going through and she replied with a blatant “ NO”
The user wrote; “ You happy Naira Marley is arrested yeah ?”

ASUU Promises To Go On Strike Again As FG Fails To Fulfill Promise

ASUU Promises To Go On Strike Again As FG Fails To Fulfill Promise

The Academic Staff Union of Universities have threatened to go on strike once more over Federal Government’s failure to implement promises.

According to punchng.com, the National President, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi made this known at a briefing in Abuja.
He said, “Since information on the amounts mentioned in the media went round, the ASUU has been inundated with enquiries on the union’s perspective to the story.
“Funding for the revitalisation of public universities has for years been of very high priority to ASUU.
“Reaching an agreement with the Federal Government has often been a frustrating journey for our union. It is often marked with protests, strikes and requires a conscious and focused engagement. The 2001 agreement, which gave birth to the 2009 agreement, was not an exemption. The exception here is the personality leading the government negotiation team.
“The current leadership of the government team clearly lacks the academic disposition and humility needed to undertake such task.
“Our members enjoy their work and hate to see any disruption in the smooth running of our universities. However, the level of frustration occasioned by the lackadaisical attitude of the government towards meeting the terms of the 2019 Memorandum of Action that was freely signed with our union is increasingly becoming unbearable.
“We, therefore, call on all Nigerian patriots, parents and students including the Nigeria Labour Congress to prevail on the government to keep to the terms of our agreement. Otherwise, our union should not be held responsible for any disruption in the system.

EFCC grills Kwara Assembly Clerk, SSG over alleged N400m severance package paid lawmakers, others

EFCC grills Kwara Assembly Clerk, SSG over alleged N400m severance package paid lawmakers, others

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ilorin Zonal Office, has commenced investigations into the alleged illegal payment of about N400m to some members of the Kwara State House of Assembly and the State Executive Council members before the expiration of their tenures.
To this end, the anti-graft agency is currently interrogating the Secretary to the State Government, Sola Isiaka Gold; and the Clerk of the State House of Assembly, Kperogi Halimat Jummai, over the alleged payment which did not follow due process.
In a release published on the anti-graft agency’s website on Tuesday, the EFCC wrote:
“It was gathered that all the 25 lawmakers and some members of the State Executive Council, two weeks ago, received about N400 million severance gratuity before the expiration of their tenure despite the fact that the State is owing workers about three months salaries.
“The petitioner said even though the Lawmakers and members of the State Executive Council are entitled to severance payment, it was the next administration that was supposed to pay the money.
“It was further alleged that the State Government, with selfish intent, swiftly paid the money before the expiration of their terms.
“More worrisome was the issue of furniture allowance running into hundreds of millions of naira according to the petitioner, which they wanted paid along with severance gratuity.”
Citing a letter allegedly written by the Kwara Assembly Speaker, the EFCC further alleged,
“In a letter written by the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmed to the State Governor, it was confirmed that the Lawmakers were entitled to severance gratuity at the end of their tenure due to terminate on June 7, 2019.
“The letter further stated that: ‘In accordance with the provisions of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Honourable Members are entitled to 200 percent of their annual basic salaries as their severance gratuity allowance at the end of their tenure of Office.’”
EFCC added that Assembly Clerk, Ms. Kperogi, confirmed to the Commission that the Lawmakers have received their severance gratuity and that the payment was approved by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
EFCC, quoting Ms. Kperogi, wrote: “In a meeting of the Principal Officers of the Kwara House of Assembly wherein (Ms. Kperogi) I am scheduled to be the Secretary, held on 8th of May 2019, issue of severance gratuity to the honourable members was raised, the principal officers were informed that the state governor has approved the payment of the severance gratuity.
“At the meeting, I (Ms. Kperogi) informed the House that His Excellency (Governor Fatai) had approved the payment, adding that members were expected to be paid after the expiration of their tenure of Office. The House debated it and they overruled me.”
Continuing, the EFCC wrote, “On the other hand, Gold (SSG) wrote and sought for the approval of the severance gratuity and furniture allowances amounting to about N300 million of some members of the State Executive Council.”
Again, citing a letter, the EFCC of Mr. Gold, “In a letter to the State Governor, dated May 8, 2019 Gold said: ‘Your Excellency, by virtue of the provisions of Kwara State remuneration of political and Public Office holders law, certain category of political and public office holders are entitled to severance and furniture allowances of their basic salaries respectively upon successful completion of tenure.’”
EFCC alleged that, according to the SSG, while the lawmakers have received their monies, members of the State Executive Council are yet to receive their gratuity.
The EFCC also said that it was investigating certain photographs circulating in the social media to the effect that Kwara State Government officials had packed four trucks full of load to an unknown destination.

“The store keeper of the State is being interrogated as at the time of this report,” EFCC said.

EFCC say no to orders stopping probe of Saraki, Okorocha

EFCC say no to orders stopping probe of Saraki, Okorocha

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has it won’t listen to court orders stopping it from probing Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha.
The EFCC accused Justice Taiwo Taiwo who made the orders of being bias. The anti-graft agency said this in a letter to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.
In the letter by EFCC’s Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, the commission requested the transfer of the cases from Justice Taiwo
His letter reads: “Your lordship, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is the 4th defendant in the respective cases stated above which are pending before Honourable Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo of your lordship’s court.
“The commission respectfully requests your lordship to re-assign the above-stated cases and all other cases pending before Honourable Justice O. Taiwo in which it is involved to other judges of your lordship’s court.
“This application has become very necessary because of the commission’s lack of confidence in his lordship’s impartiality to dispense justice in any matter concerning it.
“Particularly more worrisome is that the said orders were made ex parte contrary to the acclaimed judicial depreciation of abuse of ex parte orders by court’s and Rule 3.5 of the Revised Code of Conduct for Judicial Officers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which states: ‘A judicial officer must avoid the power of issue interim injunctions ex parte.”
He said the EFCC was conducting investigation on “allegations of corrupt practices by the Senate President, Olubukola Saraki, whilst as the Executive Governor of Kwara State and also as the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“It is also investigating Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the outgoing Executive Governor of Imo State for the same allegations of corrupt practices as the Executive Governor of the state.”
Magu recalled that Justice Taiwo had in the past “demonstrated obvious bias against the commission” in a matter involving former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.
“On June 24, 2016 the EFCC applied and secured an interim freezing order from the Federal High Court, Lagos Judicial Division wherein his Lordship, Hon. Justice M.B. ldris ordered the Manager of Zenith Bank Plc to freeze bank accounts numbers 1003126654 and 9013074033 among others operated by Mr Ayodele Foyose pending the investigation and possible prosecution of the criminal case involving the accounts.
Your Lordship, Mr. Ayodele Foyose subsequently instituted another suit in suit number. FHC/AD/15/2016 at the Federal High Court, Ado Ekiti Judicial Division praying the court for an order directing the EFCC and Zenith Bank Plc to wheeze and make operational the said accounts.
“Shockingly, His Lordship. Honourable Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo, despite being aware of the pendency of the mower before Honourable Justice M .B ldris and his said order which were duly brought to his notice, proceeded to set it aside, thereby sitting as an appellate court over the decision of a court of coordinate jurisdiction.
“It was, however, not surprising that the Court of Appeal, on appeal, held that Honourable Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo ought not to have done what he did.

Turn Your Phones To Business Tools, Saraki Tells Nigerian Youths

Turn Your Phones To Business Tools, Saraki Tells Nigerian Youths

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, on Sunday called on the nation’s youths to venture into entrepreneurship through their mobile phones as a way of self-employment and creating job opportunities for others.
Saraki, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sanni Onogu, in Abuja, gave the charge while delivering the Fourth Convocation Lecture of Adeleke University, Ede in the State of Osun, on Sunday.
In his paper with the title, “National Economic Development Through Entrepreneurship: The Role of Private Universities in Nigeria,” Saraki said it had become imperative for youths not to see their phones as fashion accessories alone, but potent platforms to launch themselves into entrepreneurship and gainful self-employment.
Saraki said: “To the graduating students, I will say that it is perhaps true that Nigerian youths are not currently maximising the potential that social media has for stimulating entrepreneurship in many areas, including those that were unheard of just a few years ago.
“I would like to see more young Nigerians put what they learned in the university to impactful use by leveraging on the social media’s abundant opportunity for business ventures.
“Entrepreneurship starts with a mindset; form networks, begin to see your phone as a business tool and not just a fashion accessory; get tutorials for starting new businesses or to ginger new business ideas.
“There is no reason why any of today’s graduating students cannot become a Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter, net worth $5 billion – or Brian Chesky, a co-founder of Air BnB. Michelle Phan of the cosmetic business Ipsy is now worth $300 million – not bad for someone who first started by uploading her videos on YouTube,” he declared.
He stated that due to its belief that entrepreneurship was crucial to the success of the economy, the National Assembly had since prioritised the passage of landmark economic laws to enable Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to grow.
He urged private universities to rise to the challenge of promoting private enterprises by ensuring that entrepreneurial skills were taught across various disciplines.
He said: “The education ethos ought to move away from the over-emphasis on theory-based approach and paper certification towards inculcating practical skills that support apprenticeship and boost innovation and industry.
“This is the place of Vocational and Technical education which provides that the youth imbibe practical skills that will not only make them employable but will also help the country to build an army of job providers.”
The President of the Senate also charged the graduates to be good ambassadors for their alma mater – Adeleke University – and good economic ambassadors for their generation and for the country.
“Endeavour always to be a credit to yourselves, to your families, your communities, and your country. The motto of this university is ‘Education, Excellence and Character’ – I encourage you to be exemplars of this motto. Be lifelong students, live the knowledge culture; an individual that never ceases to learn, never ceases to grow,” he stated.

“We all know that he was detained for investigations and he has been set free. When he was freshly released, his phone and car were not returned to him. However, he has now collected all his possessions in the custody of the EFCC. Three people were released out of the four persons arrested; Marley has been charged to court. Zlatan is okay now and people should expect more music from him” he said.
The source further backed claims of Davido not being involved in the release of the rapper. “Davido was not involved in Zlatan’s release. As we speak, he is not in the country – he is in the United States of America” he said.

UPDATE: Naira Marley Sacrificed Himself!

UPDATE: Naira Marley Sacrificed Himself!

A Facebook user has taken to the platform to berate Naira Marley whom he claimed only sacrificed himself so his other colleagues in the industry that are into fraudulent activities will have sense.
The man in his opinion, believes the Nigerian music industry is filled with individuals whose alternative source of income is fraud, but they never speak on it and so no one suspects them.
He then stated further that Naira Marley actually thought he was immune to investigation, since he is an ally with ace rapper Olamide.
Mocking the rapper, the man mentioned that by the time he is out of EFCC custody, he will want to switch to singing gospel music.
He wrote:
Naira Marley is just a worthy scapegoat. He sacrificed himself for the rest of them in the industry to have sense. Great guy.
The Nigerian Music Industry is rife with folks whose alternative source of income is also fraud, but they all keep a low profile.
Uncle Naira Marley thought he was immune cuz he knows Olamide. By the time you’re out, you’ll switch to Gospel music & be featuring Frank Edwards.
By the time Naira Marley finally comes out of this whole EFCC trouble, the value of the Naira in his name would have dropped.
The rapper, according to the anti-graft agency, will be arraigned in court on Monday.

FREE AT LAST!! Court Strikes Out Suit Challenging The Defection Of Saraki, Dogara, 52 Other Lawmakers

FREE AT LAST!! Court Strikes Out Suit Challenging The Defection Of Saraki, Dogara, 52 Other Lawmakers

A Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out the suit filed by the Legal Defence and Assistant Project (LEDAP), challenging the defection of 53 lawmakers for lack of locus standi to file the suit.

Initially, Justice Okon Abang had declared the act as unlawful based on the judgement of the supreme court, which laid down reasons that would allow for defection. According to him, the lawmakers did not meet that requirement.
He further explained that there was no division of the kind recognized by the Supreme Court to allow the defendant, that is the Senate President and 53 others retain their seat with the exception of the third defendant, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
He said this is so because in his view, at the time they claimed there was division in their parties which resulted in them decamping, those political parties were still functioning as political parties, hence, the division was not of the kind that will enable them decamp.

Six (6) Major Causes of Unemployment in Nigeria (2019 updated)

U nemployment has been a recurrent issue in the Nigerian economic discussion due to the alarming percentage of the unemployed in the country. Report by the Bureau of Statistics has it that 38% of the population of Nigeria that falls within the employable age are unemployed and 65% of Nigerian youth face unemployment as at September 2016. Simply put, unemployment could be seen as the condition of people who are without jobs. It is what exists when members of the labour force are fit and wish to work but cannot get jobs.
Unemployment has different forms such as Frictional Unemployment (a short period between ones old job and the new one), Structural Unemployment ( a mismatch between skill and vacancy), Cyclical/Seasonal Unemployment (employment pattern that follows the rise and fall in demand and supply of the products and services of the recruiting industries due to season or economic dynamics), Technological Unemployment (replacing men with machines), and Chronic Unemployment (a long term unemployment). Nigeria suffers from chronic unemployment, and several reasons such as below are responsible for the ugly condition:
Below are the Six (6) Major Causes of Unemployment in Nigeria
1) Corruption: This is a canker-worm that has eaten deep into the fabrics of Nigeria's status as a country because it frustrates the country from meeting its litany of responsibilities to the citizenry. Described as the use of public office for private gains, corruption has been rocking the Nigeria's ship of progress right from the colonial days. It involves giving and taking of bribes, siphoning of public treasury and violation of due process. Corruption accounts for an army of problems facing Nigeria today including unemployment. It has carted away public funds that could have been used to build industries for job and wealth creation. One out of the huge list of corruption cases in Nigeria was the missing $20 billion at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as revealed by the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Alhaji Lamido Sanusi Lamido.
2) Overpopulation: The rate of population growth in Nigeria is faster than the resources can provide for. The situation has been described as an elephant in a room. According to reports in Nigeria Health Watch, in 2015, the estimated number of people in Nigeria had grown to 182.2 million, a 300% increase in 56 years. Nigeria is estimated to be the third most populous country in the world by 2050 with a population of 399 million people. Absorbing the gargantuan and still counting population in a meaningful employment in order to achieve full employment level of unemployment is more or less impossible.
3) Monocultural Economy: Since Oil Boom, the oil sector of Nigeria's economy accounted for the 95% of the country's export earnings and 70% of the government's revenue. By implication, other productive sectors of the economy are left behind in mad chase of petro-dollar which ties the fate of the country firmly to the vagaries of the international oil market. Among other things, the resultant unemployment situation arising from the repudiation of other productive sectors of the economy due to Oil Boom in Nigeria has pushed scholars and analysts to describe the Oil Boom as a doom.
4) Poor System of Education: The design of Nigeria's educational system is largely theoretical than practical for skill acquisition; less qualified teachers are recruited due to corruption, and worst still is the lack of facilities for teaching and learning. This kangaroo system has consistently produced "half-baked" graduates with little or no skill to offer the society, but to end up roaming the streets not only as unemployed but also as unemployable.
5) Energy Problem: Power supply in Nigeria has been said to be more epileptic than epilepsy itself. Often times, it is doesn't show up at all talkless of being epileptic. This ugly condition has dissuaded industrialization, and by extension, employment generation. Few brave industries that weather the storm do so at very high cost which often makes them to downsize the labour in order to cut cost.
6) Orientation of the Society: The society has been keyed to believe that the road to success is getting education and then, white collar job. Going by this, graduates don't see opportunities in other places other than in "clean shirt" job positions. None of the graduates wants to be a farmer even when it is said that wealth is created from nature; an artisan even when it is known that there is dignity in labour; or a small and medium scale merchant even when it is known as a gold mine.
